iPod Problems...

Okay, so my Wife decided it would be a good idea to leave her iPod Nano in the pocket of one of her jackets. That's fine... I apparently thought it would be an EVEN BETTER idea to wash said jacket. Twice.

So, I found the Nano in the bottom of the washer, and it was DOA.

After some internet searching, we put it in a bowl with rice, leaving it to draw as much moisture out of it as it could. And after a couple of days, it's been back to normal now.

Now, I have an old warhorse of an iPod. As close as I can figure it, it's about 5 years old. It's old monochrome, and came out right before the iPod Photo. (So, that should give you a time frame...) This is the one thing that gets me through my 40 hours of work every week. I listen to it all day, and it charges every night. If I forget to pick it up in the morning, this is the one thing that I turn around to come back to get.

So, now, after we get the wife's Nano resurrected, my warhorse starts making a grinding sound and will not be recognized in iTunes. LOVELY. And all of my searching points to the iPod, even if I can get it back for a while, the hard drive will crash soon.

GREAT.

Preacher Movie, for real?

You have got to be kidding me. According to Ain't It Cool News, there is going to be a Preacher movie directed by Sam Mendes, the guy who did American Beauty and Road to Perdition.

Okay, no problem with that directing choice. Mendes did some amazing work on those two movies, and I think he could do as good a job as anyone could with ANY story.

The problem is: IT'S F$#%N' PREACHER!! Anyone who has ever read the book will tell you, there is NO WAY that the majority of this story gets to see the big screen. I'm not going to spoil the book for anyone (which I suggest that people read whole-heartedly). But come on, just READING the broad outline to people has been known to cause strokes.

In a world where a guy like Kevin Smith (a born and raised Catholic) has to put up with protests over the movie Dogma, there is no possible way that any studio will ever put this story as-is on screen.

I really hope that they do, though, because PREACHER is one of those "new classic" graphic novels. It's a great read, never gets boring, and sure as hell never slows down. Look out world, Jesse Custer may be riding into town. And he's no one to mess with.

FIRST!!!

Okay, that was a little cheesy, but I couldn't help it...

This will be my first post on my new blog, and I'm not sure exactly what direction, if any, that it will go. Basically, whatever is running through my head will go up here. So that could be anything from some meme to whatever I hear about on any of the many, many podcasts that I listen to.

So, hang on and I hope to talk to any and everyone that decides to wander past. Don't hesitate to friend me up on any of the sites listed in the sidebar, and DEFINITELY, any feedback would be appreciated.

That's about it for today. Next post will most likely be an expanded "about me".

Until then, LATERS!!
